to the previous post, this is what I wrote to the promotions manager of the station.
Bob,
Last monday, May 24, I called into the rise guys morning show and played the battle of the sexes for tickets to the June 3rd “Darkness” show. I won the competition and was told that I would be receiving tickets to the concert the following week in Charlotte. The guys took down my information and informed me that someone would contact me about the distribution of the tickets. As I have friends in Charlotte I began to make plans for that weekend and invited someone to go to the show with me. I also planned a day off of for vacation at work. Over the following two weeks I awaited a response from 93.3 about the tickets. I did not receive any communication from the station until this morning, the morning of the show, at 8:30. The call was from someone in the station saying that she was responsible for ticket distribution and that I would not be receiving my tickets as she was on vacation the previous week and the interns who were in her position did not perform their duties. As I was a bit surprised at the phone call that I would not be getting the tickets that I won, I responded “OK” expecting for her to have a compensation ticket package of some sort. She proceeded to say “Ok, well thanks, goodbye” and hung up. Now I have to cancel plans in Charlotte with people who had planned a weekend as well as try and get my vacation day back from work. The woman who I had the phone conversation with did not offer any compensation in any way or any excuse past the vacation bit. I would like to know if this has happened to others involving “Darkness” tickets as I have heard competitions throughout the week for more tickets, or if I am the only one who did not get tickets. I am a longtime listener of the station and was very excited to finally get through to a phone in competition and win. I would like to know if there are any other ticket packages that are available. As I won tickets to a show that I was looking forward to, I expected to receive tickets to a show that I would enjoy. I was disappointed by the business procedures and the professionalism of your staff and station.
