In a nutshell
For some reason THIS recent Penny Arcade comic just hits a nerve with me, in a good way. It just shows how geeks go about proving their worthiness. Just today 2 of us at work (so named The Professor and Geek Boy) were talking about our first computers and what we could do in a program to enhance it’s abilities to better suit or plants needs when the bossman asked another co-worker why our side of the plant even had to call the IT guys when we were in the plant. That was a compliment to the 2 of us and we grinned and went on in our geek language. The comic also stands for how you go about proving if you are a movie quoter too. I usually find slipping quotes from Blazing Saddles, the Holy Grail, or any other cult comedy classic into conversation can lead to finding that deep undercover seed of geekdome as well. It’s always fun to uncover that side of a person especially if you are in a crowd of people who don’t know what the hell you are talking about. I have a friend that I met through Lauren that whenever we see each other we greet one another with the tranquilizer induced “you’re crazy man…..I like you” from Old School. People just stare at us but we get a good laugh out of it. Aaaaanyways, it’s a funny cartoon. I will shut up now….no you shut up Richard.
EDIT: And yes a tag is essential to gaming….I had a unique one until the band Incubus came out then every time I went on a server people were like dude are you a fan of Incubus, and I would have to tell them the original definition of an Incubus. Should have copyrighted it. Now I just add my fraternity ID number on the end of it. I have had the tag for almost 10 years now (HOLY CRAP!). Which brings anotehr interesting point, meeting people in real life that you only know from their online form. Always awkward as you just go on calling them their screen names. Wow, I’m going to find my pocket protector now and draw up my pants.

I must respectively bow out from this geek competition. I am truly a disgrace to all geeks everywhere.
