Thank God I wear a hard hat

This is basically a recap of what I went through this morning at the barber shop. As all of you know, my traditional cut is shaved on the sides and back and long enough up top to brush forward. The following is the email I sent to the company:

” I go in about every three weeks to have my hair cut. Usually the same girl is working and she does a great job, as of today I found out that she has left the store. Upon my first visit to the store she told me that my haircut was called a high and tight and that all hair stylists should know what the cut is. I would usually ask for a “1 on the sides and short on top”, but since I learned of the high and tight definition I told the stylist a “high and tight with a 1 on the sides”. This would result in a shaved back and sides and hair long enough to brush forward with gel. The “high and tight” definition worked with many employees in this store until today. I went in to get my hair cut and asked for a “high and tight with a 1 on the sides”. The stylist, Pamela I believe, started in the usual fashion, using a 1 on her clippers. She then moved to a larger guard as did many other stylists in attempting to cut the hair on my crown to match up with the top. It was when she swept across the top of my head with the clippers that I knew that things were going horribly wrong. In the end I got a 1 on the sides and what looks like a 2 or 3 everywhere else. I don’t mind looking like a marine, I’m just glad I work under a hard hat and do not have any social engagements for a month. When I arrived home my wife screamed “what did they do to you?!”. I understand if my “definition” of my haircut may have confused the stylist but when every other stylist in the store seemed to understand the definiton perfectly I find it odd. I also find it disturbing that from the way my hair was styled at the time, that she would actually think that I did not want to have hair to brush on top. I am basically frustrated that I paid 14 dollars for what I could do in my own bathroom with a pair of clippers. I found your shop while looking for a place to go to instead of the last shop that did this to my hair, I hate to think that I have to start another search now.”

Lauren said that I should not have paid for the haircut. Maybe I shouldn’t have but they performed a service and I paid for it, hopefully the company itself will do something about it. Whatever, like I said, I look like a Marine and have a looooong time until I will be going anywhere where I actually need “good hair”.

I AM PISSED!

I have always understood a “high and tight” cut to be what they gave you today. I am actually surprised you haven’t been botched up previously when asking for this. I will give you the the fact she should have known better based on the current cut. I pray the lady that does my hair grows old in the shop. I hate finding someone new, especially at chain stores.

    1. You, of all people, have taught me to learn peoples names. Lettie does a great job on my hair.
    2. For $14, you always risk a bad haircut. I just wish I could cut my own hair. In Augusta, I recievec 1 good haircut right before I left. And yes, I too have suffered the clippers on the top. It’s horrible. Especially if you’re thinning.
    3. Last and most important, I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry. I hope you find a new place.

    Did you tip?

the hair cut that you were wanting is called a “fade”… I get pretty much the same thing that you get, however it does have a military look to it. But it’s called a “fade”… number one half fade to be exact.

My next door neighbor moved to Washington. She had borrowed Galaxy Quest, which is bad, and the The Usual Suspects, which is horrible. She stole my movies.

I guess one crime leads to another. She had already murdered an unborn child.
