There are so many awesome books in the book stores. I would have a field day picking up the books on WWII and the Civil war, especially with maps showing the strategy and attack manuveurs the generals used. Also, I recommend a nice Atlas. It makes for a classy coffee table book. I will have a nice one when I have my own place and a coffee table. You never have to wonder “where is that” again and many come filled with all kinds of useless knowledge that wins free beer on trivia nights.

Yeah, if you read a school level book, it will leave out the dirty gossip that makes history fun in the first place. For example, everyone knows Caligula had an incestuous relationship with his sister, but did you know that Columbus didn’t think the world was round, he thought it shaped like a woman’s boob. Yeah, C-dog was a boob man, too.
