The big gift
So my whole family is bugging me for Christmas gifts (yes I typed Christmas, don’t tell the ACLU). I keep telling them that my Christmas is taken care of in the toy that I will be buying on Friday with my newly acquired Best Buy 10% off coupon and regional discounts. I am going big time just in time for the bowl games folks, check out my new TOY. Sweet aint she. Too bad I will be working the week of Christmas and not get to see anything before 6 PM, but my wife will be enjoying it I am sure. I have the cable company set to come in and upgrade my cable box to HD a few days after I get the set delivered and then I plan to be comatose in front of the glory that is widescreen HD. gaaaaah, I can’t wait!! I have to wait for Friday as the coupon is a date restricted coupon, then the TV has to be delivered from the warehouse, then I have to wait for the cable company. It WILL be worth it though friends……maybe we can host some major HD events in the future now!

How do you plan on moving this thing in 6 months? Sweet TV, how did it stack against the Samsung’s and others they have?

We could play some killer Bond on that thing, too.
Not that I play nintendo anymore. That would take up valuable overtime work hours. Oh, then there’s studying for the PE. I also used to play guitar. I wonder what that’s like. I digress.
I’m completely green with envy. You are obligated to invite us to a sporting event to kick off the new big screen. You can’t just hint at maybe doing it. That’s cruel.

You sure you don’t want this one instead?
Yes, it’s more expensive, but:
1) More bang for your 10% off buck
2) More future “proof”
My folks had their TV die last week, and they called me up. I told them to not buy anything until they saw the sony above, or the HP model for 1080p. They saw both, dropped the jaws, and bought the sony on the spot…they got it for $3200. Deals can be made my friend…

I hate you so very, very much.

Wha makes a good point. If I want to be optimistic, I wouldn’t want the TV in jeopardy if I move to Chicago! As for Andy I, the difference is 1,500 bucks and the only REAL benefit I see is the twin view and possibly some picture enhancements. The wife just reminded me that she needs new tires for her car so the purchase might be postponed anyway and push me into the “I’m optimistic about the Chicago” thing. We will have to see, I have less than 24 hours to decide I guess!

LCD HDTV’s are for pussies and guys like me.
I bet an xbox 360 would look real nice on that one… IF I COULD GET MY HANDS ON ONE I’D SAY “LETS CHECK IT OUT”.
“BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO, EVERY PERSON BETWEEN THE AGES OF 2 1/2 - 97 WANTS ONE, AND HAS ONE, EXCEPT FOR ME!!!!!!! BECAUSE PRE-ORDERING A GAME SYSTEM IS AN INCREDIBLE WASTE OF VALUABLE LIFE!”
