Well in response to Wha’s post about being soooo Martha Stewart-esque I raise and call. This weekend was Christmas overload weekend in the house. See my family is coming down this next weekend to celebrate Christmas as the weekend of Christmas will be with the wifes family. So besides decorating the tree, house and exterior foliage the wife and I undertook the Christmas baking. Of course you can’t bake for Christmas without the bakground grooves, so we have been listening to Christmas music all weekend as well. Here is a lost of what we made (all from scratch, none of that premade craaaap):
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
Pecan Sandies
Buckeyes (chocolate covered peanut butter balls)
Macaroons
Chocolate covered pretzels
Pralines (like ya get in Charleston!)
Chocolate Covered Ritz Peanut Butter Sandwiches (Wife Specialty)
Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats
And to top it off, for dinner tonight I made Chicken Parmigian. So yeah, I excercised my bakers muscles this weekend and hopefully I can push alot of it off on my coworkers. So unless you got a Turducken up your sleeve, I’ll take the pot!
Just kidding, hope everyone else is enjoying the CHRISTMAS season as much as we are.
Buckeyes….yeeeeeeah. Best taste when they’re homemade.
It took forever to cook the darn Turducken, and then, John Madden snuck in the house and ate the whole thing. What jerk.
Ahh yes a true Ohian can only recognize the buckeye for it’s glory!
Can someone post the buckeye recipe? I’ve never made them.
You have a house worthy of decoration, and more importantly a wife to enjoy time in the kitchen with and also to give your sorry bum some direction in these endeavors. I have Skippy who worked all weekend and Poot, the Jack and Coke swirling king, in an apartment complex that epitomizes diversity at it’s not so finest. Once I have religated myself to endentured servitude, I will make the effort you have made sir, and honestly enjoy it because it is Christmas. Until then, I think the three of us at the Springs have done a pretty darn good job. One thing you can’t say you have, and that’s the noise of Santa’s Reindeer on your roof every night (okay, so it’s the fatty’s above us, but we can pretend for the next few weeks).
yep…. you’ll be a fatass.
