Where are they now?

Have you ever wondered where someone you went to school with was now?  Well sometimes you run into someone you know in the strangest situations.  Case in point:

The wife and I went to our favorite wing shack, Wild Wing, which is a half hour drive away but well worth it.  The venture was taken to get some wings and beer while watching the Carolina Panthers play the Giants of New York (may I say that was embarassing for the Giants on their home field turf to be shut out like that).  Anyway…..so we were sitting around watching the game when the wife looks over my shoulder and stated that the guy serving the tables behind us looked really familiar.  I turned around and immediately new the face and was shocked.  Now I remember this guy passed out on a hay bail or urinating on his former girfriend, but this time I see him bussing tables.  The guy was the one and only Paul Elder.  I did not make an effort to say hello as I was uncomfortable seeing a former brother buss tables after knowing that he graduated college.  I am not sure if he is a manager or anything but the wife, who was a former waitress herself, states that anyone who would be in that position would not be bussing tables.  I always thought Paul had decent people skills, less the drunk urination thing, and grades.  I guess it’s just disappointing to see someone you thought was better off than you in school in a job that a high school kid does for CD and movie cash.  Guess I can consider myself lucky….and I graduated behind wha!

I spoke to Eldar last football season. He is going to go back to school for law or journalism. He’s probably taking some time off.

Dave Berry works in a Cats Music in Chucktown, but I think it’s his dream job.

Dr. Frank Armacida is in his Orthapedic Surgery Residency at MUSC. Somehow, I’m not surprised.

Hey, I worked as a busser for 8 months after I graduated.

Actually it’s not such a horrible gig. Responsibility is low. You leave work everyday with cash in hand. And if you’re not afraid of STDs, you can sleep with half the waitresses and hostesses.

Yeah, if it was the Wing in Cola then he is there working part time getting through his second degree. After graduating, with a minimum of a degree and a minor, he decided he hated his job with Enterprise in their management program and went back to school in Journalism at USuCk. This was as of last January at the Howell Oyster Roast. Said Roast is in Chucktown this year. I’m probably going to hit Carn or Lawton up for a place to crash. Carn only because of proximaty to downtown for that night, though the roast is on James Island and I will be going straight as I have some government mandated education that morning keeping me in town.

Sure, you can stay at my pad. I have a guest room ready.

Of course, I’m not invited/going to whatever this Howell Oyster Roast thing is, though. So, if Carn is, I’d stay with him. Also, the Lawtons are lucky to stay up past 12. We an old married couple.
