Windy City Update

I stopped by the HR office to rib one of my favorite gamecock counterparts about a recent trip he took for “vacation”. The rumor was that he was heading out to California for an interview with the San Diego plant which just obtained one of our HR counterparts. He told me that he did not go to California but to Chicago. It turns out that he went to the Northfield plant, the same plant that I am waiting to hear from, for an interview for an HR position. He too was called on for the position from the higher ups. He found out three days after the interview that he recieved the job. I asked him, as he is HR, if he knew if that was the standard success rate for those who were called upon for the position. He said that as far as he knew, if you were specifically called out, you were pretty much tagged for the position. You just had to go throught the motions of a good interview process for others to get a feel for you.

Currently, I am waiting for news out of Northfield as to the status of the position and when it will open. I have heard from the engineer and my old boss that there now are actually two positions open under him, which of course opens the odds for me if there are more people vying for the positions. From the conversation that I had with my coworker, it sounds like I am in pretty good shape…….when they finally get the position opened. Oh, and he also joked that he may be one of my interviewers…..ya never know!

If there is an extra job in Chicago, can you give them my resume on your trip?

That goes for me too, or I can just drop one off in a week or so if you will let them know I will be around. Seriously, if you want me to scout anything out there, I will do my best. I will have the lowdown on Ditika’s, I do know that, and it should be good.
