We Gone Done Did It
Well, after a few weeks of trying to keep my tech side under control and the wife asking about a new television we finally went out and purchased our new TV. As I am a bit peeved with Best Buy right now due to the coupon fiasco of a month ago, we headed to Circuit City, one for the subtle middle finger to Best Buy for shunning my faithful purchasing power and two to see if they would compete with BB in any form. Upon entering the store, they had the two TVs that we were considering up front as if they knew we were coming in for the purchase. I sat and stared at the Sony LCD and Samsung DLP for a while. (And I just noticed that the price dropped on the Samsung, so that means mo money fo me!) Now I know that Andy 1 suggested going up in rank on the Sony but after researching I found that the 1080p is not even available, much less adopted in broadcasting as of right now. When it came down to crunch time, the wife gave the reigns to me for the decision. Both were 1080i and 50â€, the only differences were technology and the DLP had a split screen. I knew 3 or 4 DLP owners and 1 LCD owner who all had nothing but praises for the products. So due to the fact that the wife and I are sports fans and the DLP holds certain technologies better (re:Video Game Systems), I went with the Samsung DLP. Unlike Best Buy, Circuit City actually had the TV in house…..only down the road at another store. They also had a delivery coming in on Tuesday and we would get the first one off the truck if we wanted. Being overly excited about the purchase we offered to pick it up from the store down the road so that we could have it in our home that night. They set up the pick up and we headed off, received the TV along with a purchase of a Monster Surge Protector for the big purchase and drove home with the cargo in the bed of the truck. Upon opening the box, I found that the side A/V inputs were “punched inâ€. I called the local CC and told them about it and they told me to bring it back in to the store and they would exchange it for the first off the delivery truck. I reloaded the TV into the box, the box into the truck and drove back to the store for the exchange process. Upon arrival they informed me that a truck as actually coming in that night and we would have the TV in our home the next morning (as I got a free delivery out of the deal of driving the TV all over hell). So now we have a big MoFo of a TV in our living room and HD hooked up. I am slightly disappointed in the amount of HD channels available but it is one SWEET TV!! We watch Letterman in HD every night and the wife gets her “stories†in HD as well. As more channels convert to HD it will only get better. The split screen needs to be connected as we only have components for one input though. And I get all the HD tier in my cable channels free for 1 month, so that means anything on ESPN HD……I get. After that it is 7 bucks a month which, due to the amount of programming available, I may not get until next football season. And now the discussions for a Superbowl party begin!

I love the way you refer to “the wife” and “her stories”. LOL
