Babble-on

So once again I sit and work the weekend only to look forward to yet another weekend of work on Homecoming weekend.  All due to me being a good soul and swapping out weekends with a supervisor whose one year old daughter is having some hospital warranting health issues.

Aaaaanyway, over the past few weeks I have had som quips that I was going to write about but never got to so here are some things that have been going on in my mind.

1.  Clemson’s losing streak in outright sickening manner.  I may have a theory as to why that is happening but can not divulge that at this point in time.

2.  Al Gore wins a Nobel Peace Prize and an Emmy.  Yes folks, this is the end of the world.

3.  The fact that I am currently listening to the “Left Behind” series in no way affects my opinion on the last point.  Seriously, hide the kids.

4.  It is finally getting cool and I am looking forward to the smell of wood fires, Sam Adams Winter brew, hearty meals and lounging in sweats and slippers.

5.  Speaking of cool weather, here is a nostalgic oddity which only occurs in the winter.  If I smell diesel fumes my mind automatically warps back to the marching band days and travelling on the busses to tournaments and games.  Along with other *ahem* inappropriate (HAND CHECK!!!) memories, the memories always get me to smile and remember the HS friends.

6.  Speaking of HS friends.  I have a facebook and myspace account just for this reason.  As the male last name “should” never change, people can search me and find one of these pages.  After our HS 12 year reunion people have been coming out of the woodwork and signing on the pages.  It’s pretty neat to see where everyone is and it in no way forces you to continue communications with them.  You just drop in to say hey and keep them listed on your page for kicks.

7.  As I work 2nd shift I don’t get to see much TV.  I will say that ESPNU is a devilish channel that you can spend all morning watching.  As for normal TV I have picked up on “Chuck”, “The Big Bang Theory” and continued on my “Heroes” and “Stargate Atlantis” series.  I was pissed to here that they changed their minds on a final season of Stargate SG1.  If you link over to Literal Barrage you will see a post about the cast of Firefly getting back together.  This will be interesting as two of the characters from that show are on two of the shows listed above.  Kaylee is now a doctor on Stargate Atlantis and Jayne is a CIA op on Chuck.  And yes, I do realize that the two new additions to the TV entourage are super geek comedies, the wife reminds me of that as I laugh out loud at the geek jokes weekly.

OK that is all I got right now.

I kinda like Chuck and Heroes too. Never watched them until about 2-3 weeks ago. Still prefer House to about anything on right now, non sport related.
