Things that make you go hmmm……
I bought a bird feeder. I hung It on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a Week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards Of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table …Everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it When it got low on food. After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be … Quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let’s see ….Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegal’s came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; Your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn’t speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to “press one” to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than “Old Glory” are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Just my opinion, but maybe it’s time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop.

Yeah……my mom sent me that in an email. Not sure if she was looking for a reaction or if she actually feels this way about everything. All I know is that the author of this letter pretty much voiced my opinion on todays America. As mentioned in Andy 1’s treatise, America needs to start getting America responsible for their own actions. No more handouts (especially this new economy boost that the government is planning on doing!!!). What made this nation strong is no longer around, everyone expects the government to do everything for them and the government is too worried about what everyone thinks of them in the polls. Someone needs to just kick everyone in the nuts and wake them up. Welcome to America, now assimilate and be productive dammit!!!

That email is completely stupid. Stupid like stupid liberal stupid.
The “bird feeder” in America is not our government entitlement programs (although we all know that I hate those). No. The “bird feeder” is the American capitalist system which will reward you handsomely for showing up and putting in a solid day’s work.
I’ll also add that I love how the immigrant haters can never agree if the immigrants are luxury-avoiding-hard-workers or bums who do nothing but live off the American dole. As the arguments go, one minute immigrants are “stealing jobs” or something “stealing good American jobs” and the next minute they’re all stay-at-homes living off welfare and foodstamps.

Well look who got up on the wrong side of the bed…….I re read the email and saw that it was solely based on illegal immigration without addressing Americas problem of what could be called in-state abusers, or what I like to call “The New Orleans Syndrome”.

Before I realized this was a metaphor for illegals, I was going to say it was time to buy a pellet gun and go to town shooting birds. sure, you could take the food away, but killing the birds would teach them a lesson. . .
so about those illegals . . .

I was going to tell you to move the bird feeder away from the house to a location in the backyard. Still see what you want but the mess is gone, or at least where it belongs and not all over your stuff. Still think it’s a good idea.
I have never thought the illegals were nearly the burden on free subsidies (at least most of them have some osrt of job or positive economic ties) as the Nawlin’s Syndrome folk but they are getting close to as bad. Illegal workers and illegal bums are really two different stories but we can’t be discrimnators now.
On second thought, keep the feeder next to the porch but be sure you are spiking the food.
