Notes on Switzerland

1.  The entire youth population would jump into full choreography to Michael Jacksons “Thriller” if it was blasted over the loud speakers.  I would like to know what sells more in the country, hair gel or cigarettes.  Every teen to twenties guy has a black leather jacket and smokes.  All the same age range girls have their jeans painted on and smoke.  Everyone in the damn country smokes.

2.  Switzerland, home of the alps, and I saw them only once.  Next time I go, we are staying closer to them so that I can do some mountain traversing.  We will see.

3.  Food mostly consisted of meat, potatoes and cheeses.  Past that they seem to have an infatuation with pizza as there are italian stores with pizza menus out the arse on every corner.  The pizza was good but I can only eat so much.

4.  Weissbeir is gooooooood.  If I ever find Schnyder Weiss, I will buy a case.

5.  25 hour day on return is not fun.

I hope to have pics up sometime soon somewhere so that I can share the trip.  Everything was pretty cool overall from travelling business to learning some German (yes, that is the new goal, learn enough to get through a market).  Business was the primary function with minimal tourist activity.  Hopefully, that will change the next time I go.

I’ve heard good things about it. What town(s) were you around? Sounds like one of the main cities based on the description of the youth and not some of the smaller villages.

We flew into Zurich, stayed in Bern and worked in Utzenstorf. Also travelled to Thun, which is the only sighting of the Alps that I got. all in all, I covered a good bit of central Switzerland.

Oh yeah, I wanted to grab one of their license plates as they were pretty cool. Basically, Switzerland is made up of 26 Cantons, each with their coat of arms. Depending on where your car is registered, you have the swiss coat of arms (white cross on red) on the left of the plate and the canton’s coat of arms on the right. Really neat stuff if you are into heraldry and coats of arms.

Saw one of your brothers this weekend at the Orlando Spring Fling–Taylor Sacha. I knew I recognized him for *some reason*, but it didn’t come to us till the end of the day.
